While this razor was not made in France, it is still stamped with “Paris” for some reason or another. It was made in Solingen, Germany the cutlery capital of the world. Also stamped in the tang is the name Pollari. It was approximately made in between 1860-1890.
11/16″ K Bextra 1/4 Hollow Barber’s Notch in Original Scales
This early German razor was made by the Krusius Brothers in the early 1900’s.
13/16″ Jacques Le Coultre Frameback in Original Horn Scales
Not much is known about this company. The tang is stamped with the letters “R. T.” All we can definitively say is that the razor is French in origin and dates to the late 1700’s.
11/16″ Imperial Leader Hollow Grind in Original Scales
This razor dates to just before 1891. It is highly probable that this razor was made by the A. Kastor & Bros company which was based in New York City. “The Imperial Razor” was a trademark used by the company. The company eventually became Camillus.
5/8″ H.M. Christensen Square Point Hollow Grind in Original Scales
H.M. Christensen was most likely the importer or retailer of this razor, although they could have been the producer as well. The tang is stamped with the location Brockton, MA and “Warranted”. The razor dates to just before 1891.
5/8″ Buckeye B.S. Co Hollow Ground in G10 scales
Buckeye was probably the import company as this razor was made in Germany. Most probably Solingen, Germany. It dates to around the early 1900’s before WW2.
5/8″ Genco USA Hollow Grind in Imitation Wood Scales
“Genco” was the trademark of Geneva Cutlery Co, an American cutlery company based out of Geneva, NY. Sadly, like all American razor makers, the cheaper German imports put them out of business. This razor dates to the early 1900’s.
5/8″ F.W. Engels “Reliable” Hollow Grind in Original Celluloid Scales
Also known as the Hansel & Gretel knife maker for their trademark, F.W. Engels made some fine razors in Solingen, Germany. This razor dates to between 1909 – 1930’s.
6/8″ Frederick Reynolds Barber’s Notch Wedge in Vintage Scales
Frederick Reynolds produced razors in Sheffield England during its reign as the cutlery capital of the world. Only in business for a couple of decades, this razor dates to around 1880.
5/8″ Ernst Aug Hollow Ground in Original Bakelite Scales
Not much is known about Ernst Aug.Siepen other than the razor was made in Solingen, Germany the heart of the German cutlery industry to this day. The razor’s grind and profile date it around the 1920’s.
